Competitions for German-language Films

Since its founding in 1990 FILMKUNSTFEST MV has championed young German-language film from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. That is why films from those countries, which account for 40 entries in all, are again the focus of the generously endowed jury competitions for feature films, documentary films and films for children and young audiences. Numerous productions in these sections will celebrate their German premieres at the festival and a large number of directors and cast and crew members will present their films in person in Schwerin. Numerous expert juries consisting of a diverse range of industry professionals will award 40,000 euros in prize money.
