The German actress Iris Berben receives the honorary award 2017 for her lifetime achievement

Since Iris Berben is one of the most famous, successful and versatile German actresses, she has been chosen to receive the “Golden-Ox-Award” at the 27th FILMKUNSTFEST Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the city of Schwerin.

By now, her impressive filmography includes more than 120 titles of various genres and subjects. Whether in her cinema debut in Rudolf Thome's “Detectives” (1969) at the age of 18, in family dramas such as „The day will come“ (2009) by Susanne Schneider, or in one of her latest productions “Eddie the Eagle” (2016) by Dexter Fletcher - her joy of playing and her unique charm have always wowed her audience as well as her critics.

Since the beginning of her carrier in the late sixties, Iris Berben has played entertaining, witty and sometimes even challenging roles. Visitors of the 27th FILMKUNSTFEST MV will have the chance to get a representative selection of her extraordinary Œuvre in a Hommage. Iris Berben will visit the festival on the 6th and 7th of May. She will receive the lifetime achievement award, the “Golden-Ox-Award” on the 6th May 2017 during the closing night in the festival cinema Filmpalast Capitol.
